Follow these steps to perform a clean install of the Outlook Add-In for clients experiencing issues.
- Close Outlook completely.
- From the Control Panel, open Programs and Features. Uninstall the AbacusOLaddinV2 and/or Abacus Outlook Add-in.
- Check to ensure the uninstall worked:
- In Outlook, go to Outlook Options, select Add-ins, and click Go for Manage COM Add-ins.
- If you see Abacus Outlook Addin listed, remove it manually.
- In Outlook, go to Outlook Options, select Add-ins, and click Go for Manage COM Add-ins.
- Close Outlook completely.
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\ drive of the server or workstation experiencing the issue. Ensure View > Show > Hidden items is selected (checked).
- Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Abacus. Delete the Abacus Outlook Addin folder.
- Navigate to C:\ProgramData. At the top of the directory list, you should see hidden folders named with long strings of hex characters with {} around them.
- Open each folder. If any file name contains the phrase "Abacus Outlook Addin,” delete the entire folder.
- Sort the folders in C:\ProgramData by file name.
- Delete any folders named “miaXXXX.tmp.”
- Ensure the Server’s Abacus\v23\Programs folder contains the most recent version of AbacusOutlookAddin.msi.
- Double-click AbacusOutlookAddin.msi to reinstall the Outlook Add-In.
- Open Outlook. Go to Outlook Options, select Add-ins, and click Go for Manage COM Add-ins. Ensure the AbacusLaw by CARET Outlook Add-In is installed and enabled.
- From the Control Panel, open Programs and Features. Ensure that the Outlook Add-in was installed. Also, display the tooltip for the add-in and check for the correct operator, data directory, and version.
