INTRODUCTION:
You can recover deleted or moved items typically for up to 30 days form when they were originally removed. The tool that is used to accomplish this is called Shadow Copy.
APPLIES TO:
APC Users that have deleted a file or folder to a non-system folder and need to recover it.
REQUIREMENTS:
You cannot restore shadow copies of files from a system drive (C:), it must be a data drive (X: or Y:)
PROCEDURE:
Locate the folder that contains the missing files or subfolders and right-click on it
This will bring up the context menu, click Restore previous versions
The previous version menu pops up, select the date you wish to go back to and click open
This will open up a new windows that contains the folder and it's contents based on the date you selected
Right click on the folder or file you wish to restore and click Copy
Then right click and paste in whichever destination folder you prefer,
That's it! You can now close all the other windows and you have successfully restored your files.
