How to change your SA Password in SQL Management Studio

If you are uncomfortable doing these steps please contact your IT department. Amicus Attorney by CARET Support does not know your sa password.

Access SQL Management Studio and login with Windows Authentication, making sure the Server Name is \\SERVER\Amicus (where Server is the name of the SQL-Amicus server)

Select Connect

Expand Security -> Expand Logins

Double click the sa user on the left.

Backspace the passwords out and enter in a new password at least 8 characters long, then confirm the password and click Ok.

Amicus Attorney by CARET Technical Support does not know your sa password and the password policy is of your choosing. Please make sure to note your sa password for future use.

Verify you can connect with the new password by selecting the top left of SQL management Studio by selecting File and then Connect Object Explorer.

From the Windows Autentication dropdown chose SQL Server Authentication. Enter the user name sa and the password you just created and then Connect.
