Importing Time and Expenses to TimeSlips
Note: To export your time to Timeslips you must first disable Amicus Cloud billing. Only time tracking will be available. You must use your accounting software for billing and payments
Click the options menu in Amicus Cloud :
Click firm setup and open the Billing Setup menu :
From there click the option to disable Amicus Cloud billing, select Time Slips, and then click save and close :
You will then be promted to logout of amicus cloud. Log back in and go back to the billing setup screen :
Click the download TPL file button and save the tpl file. Take note of the location which you saved the file.
Go to the time module and click the post button to export your unposted time :
Click the post button on the prompt that appears and download and save the exported time and expenses. Take note of the location which you have saved the file :
Importing Time Entries into Timeslips
Start TSImport (a separate utility located under Start > Programs > Timeslips > TSImport)by Click File > Open :
In the window that appears, locate the TPL Template downloaded earlier.
Specify the Import File. In the “Get Data from” section of the window that appears, you'll need to locate the time and expenses export downloaded earlier. Click the “…” button to browse to the correct location you saved exported time to :
Once you have selected the desired file, click the Open button.
Click the Import button to complete the import of the selected time entries.
Timeslips will allow you to do a backup of the database before continuing. This will not impact the import process, but you may choose to do so before continuing.
Depending on the number of time entries being imported, you may see the progress appear on the screen. If there are no matches found between existing Timeslips timekeepers, clients, and tasks (activity codes) and the imported ones, they can be created or mapped to existing items at the time of import. If you prefer, you may set up these items ahead of time in Timeslips.
When the import is complete the following window will appear. Click OK to close :
Close the TSImport window. If prompted to save changes to template, click Yes.
Open Timeslips to view the newly created slips. Your Amicus Cloud Time and Expense Entires have now been imported to Timeslips as Slips.
