Following are possible solutions for errors 7009 and 7010.
Reindex
- Have all users log out of all AbacusLaw by CARET programs (AbacusLaw by CARET, Abacus Accounting, MessageSlips, and Outlook if they use the Abacus Outlook Add-in).
- Inside AbacusLaw by CARET, navigate to File > Utilities > Reindex.
- After reindexing has completed, try again.
Check Security Permissions on the Server
Either of these errors can occur because of an issue with security permissions on the server. Read this article for more information on how to check and verify these: Error 7077: The Advantage Data Dictionary Cannot be Opened.
If the issue is recurring, also try disabling any antivirus or antimalware. Consult with your IT or system administrator if you are unable to do this yourself. If the issue stops after doing so, add exceptions for lawwin.exe, AbacusA.exe, AbacusMO.exe, and Msgs.exe. All files are in the \Abacus\v23\Programs share on the server (except AbacusMO.exe, which is located in C:\ProgramData\Abacus\Abacus Outlook Addin).
Check Disk Space
Verify that the drive that AbacusLaw by CARET is installed on AND the C drive on the server (if they are different) are not nearly out of disk space. If either is, this can prevent AbacusLaw by CARET from functioning normally, and cause a 7009 error.
