How to Find a Matter by the Matter Name in Abacus Accounting

To have access to this option, you must have AbacusLaw by CARET v23.27 or greater installed.

Abacus Accounting users now have the ability to enter a matter name into a Matter Number field. After entering a few characters of the matter name, Abacus Accounting finds the matter based on name and populates the field with the corresponding matter number.

To use this feature, Allowing matter name entry in matter number fields must be checked. This is a new field on the Workstation Options window's Data Entry tab. 

Once checked, if users enter a portion of a matter name in a Matter Number field, the matter is found…

…and tabbing or moving to another field populates the field with the matter number.
