How to set up a New Workstation or Update one

On Version 23.27 Or Newer

1. Open My Computer.
   
2. Open the mapped Abacus drive (or map a drive to the Abacus folder on the server if not already done).
   
3. Browse to Abacus\v23\Programs and locate AbacusLaw WorkStation Standard Setup [Version numbers].msi
   
4. Double-click AbacusLaw WorkStation Standard Setup
   
5. Verify the install directory paths are correct.
   
6. Choose if you want to Install MessageSlips Icon on Desktop & if you want to Start MessageSlips Program On Windows Startup
   
7. Click Next.
   
8. Check Full Accounting station – create shortcuts if the workstation will use the accounting program.
   
9. Click Next
   
10. Choose if you want AbacusLaw to start after installation completes.
    
11. Click Finish.

On Versions Below 23.27

1. Open My Computer.
   
2. Open the mapped Abacus drive (or map a drive to the Abacus folder on the server if not already done).
   
3. Browse to Abacus\vXX\Programs and locate station.exe. (where XX = version of Abacus)
   
4. Double-click station.exe
   
5. Verify the install directory paths are correct.
   
6. Check Install MessageSlips Icon on Desktop if you want it there.
   
7. Click Next.
   
8. Check Full Accounting station – create shortcuts (if applicable).
   
9. Click Next through the prompts.
   
10. When it comes up, log in to Message Slips, using your Abacus log in ID.
    
11. Click Finish.

Follow the steps above in the event you are missing any Abacus icons on your desktop.
