This error will occur any time AbacusLaw is in Demo Mode, and you are trying to add a name or matter record above the limit set in Demo Mode.
If the error is occurring and your firm is an active subscriber who should have full access, it indicates that AbacusLaw's registration was reset, and AbacusLaw needs to be re-activated.
Simple Fix (Usually Sufficient)
- Inside AbacusLaw, navigate to File > Register. Click Activate.
- Close and re-open AbacusLaw. Try adding a record again.
Advanced Fix
- Get logged into the AbacusLaw server. Have all users log out of AbacusLaw.
- Navigate to the Abacus\v23 directory.
- Delete lawwin.dat and lawwinpp.dat.
- Open AbacusLaw on the server. Navigate to File > Register.
- Click Activate.
- Close and re-open AbacusLaw. Try adding a record again.
