Download the latest version of OfficeTools by CARET Server Components and place the installation file somewhere the server can see (shared network drive, or directly download it onto the server)
Turn off all OfficeTools by CARET related services to include (but not limited to):This will greatly reduce the chance of possibly having to reboot the server after being updated. If you plan to reboot the server after the update it is not required to turn off these services.
- Run the update file you downloaded and follow the prompts.
- After this refresh the previous Services window to ensure that all the services now state Running.
If the server prompts for a reboot and you are unable to reboot right now, the following services may not run properly until the reboot is conducted:
a. Otpweb Service – Advanced Portal features (Time, Scheduling, Questionnaire and Client Check-in) and E-Signatures (Manage Requests window may not update properly and files may not be downloaded back into OfficeTools by CARET once signed and completed)
b. AutoReminder Service – Auto text/email reminders to be sent out at specific intervals (These may not be sent out properly as scheduled)
c. Backup Service – Backup Utility may not run (Backups will not be created)
d. Service Host – Refresh delay throughout the program (Items may not update until selecting another client and then navigating back, or logging out/back into OfficeTools by CARET)
e. Office Tools Exchange Services – Allows a broad array of communication procedures for OfficeTools by CARET (Required in order to use the Mobile App and the Exchange Integration)
- At this point, you are finished updating the OfficeTools by CARET Server Components and can move onto updating the workstations (if applicable).
