In Amicus Attorney by CARET, a File is the central hub for all information, communications, and activity related to a client’s case, including time spent. It provides a history of the work completed, who performed it, and all time recorded against the File, whether billable or non-billable.
- A File can be assigned privately to yourself, to a user group, to selected staff members, or to all users. This assignment controls who can access the File and its related items. File permissions can also specify which firm members may edit the File and its records.
- Through the File, staff can view all associated contacts, assign each contact’s role, and track related appointments, tasks, emails, phone calls, time entries, expenses, notes, and documents over time. A File can also include custom fields designed by the firm.
- If you are an Administrator of the firm’s Amicus Attorney by CARET, or a billing user or supervisor, you can also associate bills (and invoices), payments, and trust.
