Client/Matter Specified Does Not Have Enough Money in the Trust Account to Cover this Disbursement

If you receive one of the above messages when trying to print a Trust check (either from Trust Demand Check Writer or Print Trust Checks), read below to troubleshoot.

• Verify that the funds exist in the matter's trust account on the date of the trust check. E.g. if the check is being written for the 20th, and a trust deposit was entered on the 21st, the trust funds from that trust deposit will not be available for the check.
  • You can verify this by opening Matter Trust Activity for the relevant matter, setting the End Date to the date of the check, and verifying the Trust Ending Balance

• You should also verify that you are not entering a trust check that will cause trust funds to go into overdraft on a future date due to another trust withdrawal at that time!
