Some firms may not want every employee in the office to be able to edit the registry, especially the registry settings that relate to the AbacusLaw by CARET program.
To disable access, do the following:
- At the server computer, type gpedit.msc in the Search box next to the Start button. Press Enter.
- The Local Group Policy Editor window opens. In the left pane, select User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System.
- In the right pane, double-click Prevent access to registry editing tools.
- The Prevent access to registry editing tools window opens. Select Enabled and click OK.
- Close the Local Group Policy Editor window.
When users try to access the registry, they will receive an error message.
