There are 3 ways to enter time in the system so that it will appear on a Bill created in Abacus Accounting. In AbacusLaw by CARET, time can be entered as a Note or Event

Enter a Note in AbacusLaw by CARET
- Open a Matter.

Click the Notes tab.
- Click Add.

Enter Date, Time, and Text.
- Click the Bill button.
- Click the Yes button to answer the question “Are you sure you want to bill this Note record?” The Time Tickets – Entering New Time screen from Abacus Accounting is displayed.
- Review all the information and make corrections as needed.
- Click the Done button.
Enter an Event in AbacusLaw by CARET
- Open a Matter.

Click the Events tab.
- If the event is not already established, click Add.

Enter Who, What, When, Where, Description, Hours.
- Click Save button.
- Highlight the event.

Click the Bill button.
- Click the Yes button – Are you sure you want to bill this Event Record? The Time Ticket screen from Abacus Accounting will appear.

Review Information and make changes as needed.
- Click the Done button.
Enter a Time Ticket in Abacus Accounting

Navigate to Billing > Time Tickets.
- Click the Add button in the lower-left.

Enter the information required – Matter Number, Text , Date of Service, Hours and Time Ticket Type.
- Click the Done button.
