In order for the database to update data it requires all files to be closed and no users logged into the program.
This is important for proper program behavior because the database needs all files closed and users logged out to update itself. For example, if users do not log out items that are marked ‘to do’ with never roll forward. Also, with people in Abacus the program cannot do a backup. A critical user habit equals logging out of Abacus each night.
