Multi-User Error (-6123, 0)

INTRODUCTION:

Perform the following steps if you are receiving the multi-user error (-6123, 0).

PROCEDURE:

OpenIf the computer name where the file is hosted has changed:
  1. Reboot the computer.
  2. Open QuickBooks.
  3. Select File > Utilities > Stop Hosting Multi-User Access.
  4. Select File > Switch to Multi-User Mode.
    Note: If the company file cannot be opened, then "Switch to Multi-User Mode" will not be available. Instead select File > Utilities > Host Multi-User Access.
OpenIf the McAfee Privacy Service is installed:
  1. Open the McAfee Security Center.
  2. Open the Privacy Service tab.
  3. Click Configure Privacy Service Options.
  4. Select Options.
  5. Open the Block Info tab.
  6. Deselect the Block Web Bugs on this Computer option.
  7. Close McAfee Security Center.
  8. Open QuickBooks in multi-user mode.
