There are multiple reasons for needing to do a bill credit. Wrong account was billed, a bill was done too soon, you know the client isn’t going to pay and you just want to write it off.
1. Click on the Bills menu and select Bill Credits.
2. Enter the client info.
3. It’s recommended to always do a bill credit in the current control period. Doing a bill credit in a past period could affect end of month report numbers.
4. Entering a description is optional. It is necessary to choose the balancing option. Then click Post.
5. If the bill credit didn’t provide the desired results, then go into Bills, Reverse and reverse the bill credit and redo it.
