Error "Username: the field is required to be set" when trying to complete APX (Abacus Payment Exchange) application

Error: "Username: the field is required to be set" when trying to complete the APX application, even though you have specified a user name. 

This error occurs because the password you have specified contains characters the applications does not allow. For the password, $, %, _, #  should not be used
