Your Amicus Attorney by CARET subscription automatically goes into Read Only mode if the subscription expires. This means you are still entitled to view your data, but you cannot edit, delete, or work on your files.
This can happen if your account is delinquent, or if there is an issue with the Payment method on file. If your account switches to Read Only mode, go to AbacusNext Client Portal and login to confirm your subscription is up to date. If there is no outstanding balance, please call Amicus Attorney by CARET Client Services at 1 (800) 726-3339 or email support@getcaret.com.
Another reason an Amicus Attorney by CARET subscription goes into Read Only mode, is because the Amicus Application Server cannot communicate to the Amicus License Server. Every night at approximately 3:00 AM, every firm's Amicus Application Server communicates to the Amicus Attorney License Server to confirm the subscription is active and, if required, to update the license. If this fails to connect for 7 consecutive days, a message appears to Amicus Administrators, indicating Amicus hasn't been able to update the license information.
If your firm receives the message shown above, contact the Client Services team to confirm your server can connect with the Amicus License Server. If the Amicus Application can't connect for 30 consecutive days, the Amicus Attorney Subscription switches to Read Only mode.
