INTRODUCTION
This article reviews how to update QuickBooks using the SSUP tool.
APPLIES TO
Assigned SSUP user updating QuickBooks desktop program.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure APC users are logged off the server
- Reboot server
- SSUP update will need to be run on every server where QuickBooks is installed
It is recommended to perform a reboot both before and after an update. Ensure that no users are accessing the program. Updates performed while users are active in the program can cause data corruption.
When initiating a reboot with SSUP, the server will reboot instantly. It may take 10 to 15 minutes to become accessible. If your server is still inaccessible after 15 minites please call APC Support.
PROCEDURE
Left-click on “Search Windows” in the lower-left corner of the screen.

Type “software center” in the search bar

Left-click on “Software Center” when it appears


Left-click on “Repair”

Left-click on “OK” when the pop-up appears


Left-click on the checkbox next to “Initiate automatic reboot of the server after SSUP is closed.”

Left-click on “Browse”

Left-click on “Downloads”

Left-click on the QuickBooks Update Installer that you would like to use

Left-click on “Open”

Left-click on "Install Now”

If you receive A prompt to perform a server reboot, CLICK NO. Server Reboots should only be performed using the SSUP tool, NOT via an application prompt as it will fail.
Left-click on "OK”

The version of the QuickBooks you selected has been updated. Repeat Steps 9 through 14 in order to complete updates on other versions of QuickBooks.
Once you have completed the updates that were needed, you can close SSUP.


IMPORTANT: Once you close SSUP, the server will reboot instantly. If your server is not back up in 15 to 20 minutes, please contact support.
