By default, there are two ways to set the AbacusLaw to Outlook Sync tool to only sync your events. Both methods are described below.
This should be configured before the first sync to Outlook. Once data is synced to Outlook, it cannot be undone without manually deleting every undesired record from within Outlook, or performing a new Full Sync that deletes & replaces your Outlook calendar!

Default WHO Code on AbacusLaw Calendar
This only constrains what syncs to Outlook in AbacusLaw v23.16 or greater. If you are on an earlier version, follow the steps in the next section.
The Outlook Sync feature of AbacusLaw will sync all events assigned to the default WHO code(s) set on your AbacusLaw calendar. In other words, if your calendar is set to only view your WHO code, only your events will sync, but if your calendar is set to view “All People” by default, EVERY staff member’s events will sync to your Outlook calendar.
To set the default WHO code on your calendar, follow the steps below:
- In AbacusLaw, navigate to File > User Log On.
- Re-enter your login credentials.
- Navigate to Calendar > Setup.
- Click on WHO.
- In WHO Codes to view, select the codes for the user(s) whose events you want to see in your Outlook calendar.
- Click Done.
Set WHO Code in the Events Query
If you prefer to view other users' events in AbacusLaw but do not want to sync these, you can set to sync only your events in the events query directly.
- From the menu bar, select File > Synchronize > Outlook Sync > Setup.
- Select the Events tab. Click on the up arrow next to the Events query field.
- Highlight the query currently in use (SYN_EVNT, by default), and click Clone.
- Give it whatever Query ID you would like. You may want to include your Who code in the Query ID, for easy reference.
- Highlight the newly cloned query, then click Edit. Click Add on the next screen.
- A window appears asking “How do you want to combine the previous condition with the next?”. Click And.
- On the new screen, make sure Field is set to Who, Comparison is set to contains, and Value is set to your Who code (usually the same as the User ID you use to log into Abacus).
- Click Done to save the query field.
- If you would also like to have events for another user included in your calendar, follow the steps below. If not, you can proceed to step 13.
